Lauren Brody is the Founder and Principal of Field and Figures Advisory. She has spent more than 15 years in construction finance, working her way from lead project accountant on the $1.2B Delta Air Lines redevelopment at JFK International Airport to Director of Cost Control at Holt Construction.
At Holt she also served as Operational Controller, where she led the companywide Procore implementation, rolled out Textura and rebuilt project financial reporting from start to finish. Before that she was Assistant Regional Controller and Project Controller at Suffolk Construction, and Senior Project Accountant for Tishman Construction at Hudson Yards. She started her career in public accounting and tax audit, which is where the habit of checking every number against its source comes from.
She has prepared the monthly requisitions, run the pencil meetings with project managers, owners and architects, processed the change orders, reconciled owner records against project financials, and built and managed the teams that do that work. She knows where the numbers go sideways on a job because she has been the one who had to explain them.
She founded Field and Figures Advisory to bring that experience to companies that need it without adding a full-time executive to the payroll. She is direct, she speaks both languages, field and finance, and she is as comfortable in a trailer as in a boardroom.
